Overview

Mina by Armina Patel is a Karachi-based saree brand built on a clear and compelling idea: that sarees are not reserved for grand occasions or a previous generation. Founded by Armina Patel, the brand reimagines traditional South Asian drapes for modern women across all ages, offering pieces that move from festive gatherings to everyday wear without asking the customer to choose between heritage and practicality.

The brand had the product, the photography, and the aesthetic. What it did not have was a storefront that could sell it. Armina came to KolachiTech to build a Shopify store from the ground up, one that matched the brand’s elevated positioning, presented the catalog in a way that reflected the craftsmanship of each piece, and gave customers a seamless path from discovery to purchase on both mobile and desktop.

Challenges / Requirements

A brand identity that demanded more than a standard theme setup. Mina by Armina Patel occupies a specific aesthetic space: traditional craftsmanship presented through a contemporary, premium lens. A generic Shopify theme with default settings would have flattened that identity immediately. The store needed to feel like the brand, not like a template.

A catalog that required deliberate architecture. Sarees are tactile, visual products with meaningful variation across fabric, occasion, pattern, and price point. The collections needed to be structured in a way that helped customers navigate by how they actually shop, whether by occasion, by collection, or by discovery browsing, without overwhelming them at the entry point.

Mobile-first customers in a highly visual product category. The core audience shops primarily on mobile and arrives through Instagram and social media. Every product detail, image gallery, and checkout interaction needed to perform correctly on a phone screen before anything else.

Building trust for a new brand selling at a premium price point. With products priced at Rs.12,500 and above, and a Luxe tier reaching Rs.35,000, first-time visitors needed enough brand context, visual confidence, and trust signals to feel comfortable purchasing from a new name. The store had to do the credibility work that an established brand name does automatically.

Global shipping ambitions from launch. Despite being a local Karachi brand, Mina by Armina Patel launched with worldwide shipping as a stated offering, targeting the Pakistani diaspora and international buyers interested in South Asian luxury textiles. Shipping zones, currency handling, and international checkout had to be configured correctly from day one.

What We Built

We set up the complete Shopify store from scratch, working through every layer of the storefront from the foundational configuration to the customer-facing experience.

The store’s collection architecture was built around how the brand’s target customer actually shops. Three primary collections were created: Luxe for premium pieces at the higher price tier, Festive Saris for occasion-specific buying occasions, and Modern Vintage for the brand’s contemporary take on heritage prints. A fourth all-products view was added for discovery browsing. Each collection received its own dedicated page within the navigation rather than being buried in dropdowns, giving the catalog maximum accessibility from the first click.

Product pages were configured to give each saree the presentation it deserved. Every piece received a multi-image gallery, a full description written in the brand’s voice, care and draping context where relevant, and a clear add-to-cart experience with wishlist and quick view functionality enabled. The product detail structure was designed to address the tactile question that every online clothing purchase involves: what will this actually feel and look like in person?

The homepage was built as a brand-forward entry point rather than a straight product grid. The hero section leads with campaign imagery and the brand’s core positioning, the story section introduces Armina’s founding philosophy directly on the home page, and the product carousels are presented as editorial selections rather than a warehouse list. The Instagram feed integration connects the social presence to the storefront so the community Armina has built on Instagram becomes visible to every new visitor.

Wishlist, quick view, and product comparison functionality were integrated to reduce friction for customers who browse multiple pieces before deciding. The email capture was configured with a new subscriber discount offer to convert first-time visitors into list subscribers before they leave.

Meta Pixel and Google Analytics 4 were set up from day one so every campaign Armina runs has accurate data feeding back into the platforms from the first sale. Worldwide shipping zones were configured to support international delivery with clear rate structures visible at checkout.

Results

A brand-ready storefront live from day one. Mina by Armina Patel launched with a storefront that matched the visual quality of its product photography and the ambition of its brand positioning. The store looks and feels like a premium fashion label, not a first-time Shopify setup.

A catalog structure that scales cleanly. The collection architecture built at launch accommodates ongoing product additions without requiring restructuring. New sarees slot into existing collections, seasonal drops can be added as new collections, and the navigation remains clean regardless of catalog depth.

Full tracking infrastructure in place. Meta Pixel and GA4 are configured and firing correctly. Every paid campaign Mina by Armina Patel runs on Instagram and Facebook feeds accurate conversion data back into the ad platforms, enabling proper optimization from the first rupee of ad spend.

International checkout ready from launch. Worldwide shipping is live and correctly configured. The brand can accept and fulfill orders from the Pakistani diaspora globally without operational gaps at the checkout stage.

A foundation for growth that does not need to be rebuilt. The store was built to support the next stage of the brand’s growth, including email marketing automation, loyalty program integration, and expanded product lines, without requiring any structural rework. The infrastructure is already in place.
